Upon completion of this course, students will be deployment eligible. Students will not receive Silver Flag credit as part of this course. Here, AFIT and REDHORSE cadre conduct hands-on education and evaluation of students executing force beddowns, airfield damage assessment and repair, disaster preparedness, fire rescue, usage of bare base assets, and command and control. The final week of the course is conducted at the Silver Flag Exercise Site, hosted by the 801st REDHORSE Training Squadron at Tyndall AFB, FL. ![]() The last four (4) weeks of the course focus on supporting combat operations and activities. The first five (5) weeks of the course cover CE organization, functions, project management principles and the basic mechanical, electrical and civil engineering technical knowledge needed to complete infrastructure activities at home station and in a contingency environment. Students learn the responsibilities of each flight within the typical CE squadron, how a CE squadron interfaces with other organizations, and how to plan and execute various programs within each of the flights. Students gain a basic understanding of Air Force CE doctrine, history, and related functions. This is a mandatory course for all new Total Force CE (Civil Engineer) Officers per the 32E CFETP (Career Field Education and Training Plan). ![]()
